The Prospector Group is made up of a collaborative team of multi-talented individuals who have come together to produce unique insurance products.
Bradley J. Esty, President - Brad first moved to Park City from Westport, CT in 2000 and became President of Management Recruiters of Park City, in 2001. MRI of Park City was cited twice by Utah Business magazine as one of Utah’s 100 top fastest growing companies. In 2002, Brad and his brother Greg Esty began to develop ExecuSure and formed The Prospector Group. Prior to moving to Park City, Brad served as President/Founder of several major marketing firms spanning 18+ years, most recently having sold his own marketing company, ranked as one of the nation’s top 25 marketing agencies. Since being in Park City, Brad has been Founder/Co-founder of several local businesses in addition to The Prospector Group. They include M & E Partners (real estate development) and American Mailing Services. In between business interests, Brad enjoys spending time with his wife Julie, their two sons, fly fishing, camping, golfing, and SCUBA diving. He is also a commercial rated pilot and enjoys flying small planes.
Fred Vallejo, Senior Vice President, Marketing - Fred moved to Park City from the Washington, DC area 15 years ago. He joined Prospector group in 2006. He has 25 years of award-winning marketing and sales experience serving major corporations and national organizations. His experience includes work with such prominent entities as National Public Radio, The Smithsonian Institution, The New Your Public Library, The National Wildlife Federation, and others. Fred is a strong believer in giving back to the community. He serves as president of the Board of Trustees of Conserving Our Open Lands (COOL), a Summit County land trust. Plus, he is a founding member of the Board of Trustees of the Youth Winter Sports Alliance, providing kids the opportunity to experience all types of winter sports and make good use of the area's numerous Olympic venues. Fred's is married to his wife Alison of 20 years and has two children (Margaret, 17 and Matthew, 15). Fred is an avid golfer, ski racer, tennis player and biker.
Marc Pender, Executive Vice President - Marcus M. Pender is the president and chief operating officer of International Excess Program Managers. Marc is also the Managing partner of WSIB Insurance Agency, Managing Partner of MJK Rebelco; President of Confab, LLC; and Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of International Excess Agency and its companies. Marc has numerous duties within all corporations as well as the numerous boards that he is on. His main duties include the oversight management of operations at these companies and to aggressively seek out new opportunities for these companies. Marc has been in the insurance industry since 1987 when he entered the insurance industry as a producer for one of the top 100 insurance agencies in the United States. After spending time in both sales and marketing he began to specialize in the excess and surplus lines business. In 1995 Marc transitioned and took a position with the International Excess companies.
Joy LaFrance, Senior Vice President, Operations - Joy M. LaFrance is the vice-president and chief financial officer of International Excess Program Managers. Joy is also a managing partner of MJK Rebelco; Vice-President of Confab, LLC, partner in WSIB Insurance Agency, and CFO of International Excess Agency and its companies. Joy’s main duties include the financial review and health of these organizations as well as to create, seek and place new insurance programs. Joy has been in the insurance industry since 1988 where she started her career at Farmers Insurance. After gaining knowledge of insurance company operation she worked in two independent insurance agencies where she engaged in service and sales directly with insured’s. She joined the International Excess Companies in 1996. Joy began her career inside the International Excess family as a production underwriter; after several years she utilized her underwriting knowledge to help start the program division.
Ken Kukral, Vice President, Insurance Division - Kenneth E. Kukral is the president and CEO of International Excess Agency. Ken is CEO of International Excess Program Managers: also a partner in WSIB Insurance Agency, A Partner of MJK Rebelco and Sales Executive of Confab, LLC Ken has numerous duties within all corporations mostly in oversight management and Sales/marketing. Ken also handles all licensing and compliance areas. Ken has been in the insurance industry since 1985 when he entered the insurance industry as a producer for Equitable Financial Services. He obtained his life and health insurance license along with passing the series 6 securities exam. In 1986 Ken took a position with the International Excess Companies as Asst. to the President. Ken became a minority owner in 1988 and completed the acquisition of International Excess Agency in 1993.
